Congratulations to our 2019 ACS/ASBrS International Scholarship Award recipient, Veronica Andino, MD of Ecuador. She will attend The American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS) 20th Annual Meeting, April 30-May 5, 2019 in Dallas, TX and visit the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) headquarters in Chicago, IL, to learn about the standards for a breast cancer program/database and the importance of multidisciplinary breast cancer care.

The American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS) recently announced new genetic testing guidelines for hereditary breast cancer, calling for genetic testing to be available to all patients diagnosed with breast cancer. These new recommendations expand on common restrictions which recommend testing only for certain age groups and types of cancer. Registration for the Society's 2019 annual meeting, which will be held April 30 - May 5 in Dallas, TX, is now open. The online preliminary program includes complete pre-meeting and general session agendas, as well as information on this year's meeting venue, the Hilton Anatole. The American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Breast Surgeons are offering an annual scholarship to subsidize attendance and participation in the Executive Leadership Program in Health Policy and Management at Brandeis University. The course takes place June 2—8, 2019. The award is in the amount of $8,000, to be used toward the cost of tuition, travel, housing, and subsistence during the period of the course.
