CMS Proposes Physician Medicare Payment Cuts in 2024
On the afternoon of July 13th, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released its calendar year 2024 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS). Yet again, CMS has proposed cutting payments to physicians who treat Medicare patients. If finalized as proposed and without Congressional intervention, the MPFS conversion factor would decrease by almost 3.4%.
New APP Certification Program
ASBRS is pleased to offer a new APP Breast Disease Certification Program, designed exclusively for nurse practitioners and physician assistants who are ASBrS Affiliate Members. Beginning this September, candidates will access monthly modules comprised of educational lectures and other resources, including self-assessment questions with accompanying evidence-based explanations to ensure a robust educational experience.

Susan K. Boolbol, MD, FACS, of New York began her term as the Society’s 26th President on April 28, 2023. The official transition of leadership from Dr. Nathalie Johnson to Dr. Boolbol took place at the Society’s business meeting held in conjunction with the Society’s 24th Annual Meeting in Boston.
Apply for ACS/ASBrS 2023 Health Policy Scholarship by March 17
The American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Breast Surgeons cosponsor an annual scholarship to subsidize attendance and participation in the Executive Leadership Program in Health Policy and Management at Brandeis University.
