BSO Fellows Skills Course
Featuring Imaging & Oncoplastic Surgery

January 17–18, 2025 • Cincinnati, Ohio

This course is filled to capacity.

This non-CME comprehensive program includes training in imaging and oncoplastics designed primarily for the breast fellow with little or no prior experience in diagnostic or interventional breast ultrasound and oncoplastic breast surgery techniques. The self-paced pre-recorded lectures cover the basics of oncoplastic techniques, ultrasound physics, scanning techniques, and the interpretation of breast lesions. The faculty will share their personal experiences and discuss the Fellows Imaging Certification Track and Oncoplastic Surgery Certification (Level 1) processes. This course will be accepted as the all-day hands-on element for the new Fellows breast ultrasound certification track.

This course's hands-on imaging session offers practical applications of diagnostic interventions. Attendees will practice core biopsy, pathology and intraoperative ultrasound application, and demonstrate upright and prone stereotactic breast biopsy techniques. The hands-on oncoplastic session offers practical application of basic oncoplastic procedures. Attendees will practice skin markings, cavity closure with glandular displacement, aesthetic scar placement, crescent mastopexy, inframammary fold crescent, and the donut therapeutic mastopexy.
