David R Gruen, MD, MBA, FACR
About Dr. Gruen
Dr. David Gruen is the former Chief Medical Officer for Imaging at IBM Watson Health and Merative, LLC. He is a practicing radiologist in Connecticut, specializing in breast and body imaging, informatics and AI. He has served as the director of major women's imaging and breast care programs, served on hospital and not-for-profit boards, and advised companies larging and small on topics including Comprehensive Breast Care, Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, Enterprise Imaging, and Digital and Technologic Innovations in healthcare.
In addition to serving as the Chief Medical Officer at IBM Watson Health, Dr. Gruen has served in an advisory capacity or principal investigator for companies including Hologic, GE Healthcare, Lunit, Fuji Medical Systems, Berlex/ Bayer, and Beekley Medical.
Dr. Gruen speaks frequently at national conferences including Society of Informatic in Medicine; Radiology Society of North America, AiMed, Vive, HealthConnect Partners and the American College of Radiology. He is frequently published and cited in both the lay and medical press on issues including AI Adoption, Medical and Imaging Technology, and Women's Health.
Dr. Gruen completed his undergraduate and Medical Degrees at Cornell University, his radiology residency at New York-Cornell, post-doctoral fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and received his MBA from the University of Massachusetts.
