On July 13th, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the proposed rule for the calendar year (CY) 2022 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS). The proposed rule puts forward payment and quality measurement policies for the upcoming calendar year.

The American Society of Breast Surgeons is partnering with seven specialty-specific bodies to start Breastics24h, a free online educational event on September 25–26, 2021, exploring breast oncoplastic surgery. Julie Margenthaler, MD, of Missouri began her term as the Society's President on May 1, 2021. The official transition of leadership from Dr. Jill Dietz to Dr. Margenthaler took place at the Society’s business meeting held in conjunction with the Society's 22nd Annual Meeting.
